Chelsea star signs new four-year contract to fight off interest from Manchester United

The attacking midfielder was attracting the attention of former boss Jose Mourinho, with French giants PSG also interested in the 27-year-old.
He was the only player to shine in Mourinho’s disastrous final season was valued at around £50m because he only had two years left on his contract.
But his new deal, worth around £8m a year, will see his price tag soar and send a message to suitors he is going nowhere.
The Blues paid Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala £30m for him three years ago.
He has improved each season at the club, and last time out scored five Champions League goals for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
UEFA named him one of the top XI players of the Champions League group stage and he was voted Chelsea’s Fans’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year.
His new contract looks to have stemmed from new boss Antonio Conte recognising he is a vital asset.
While on Brazil duty at the Copa America Willian did not dismiss linking up with Mourinho again saying: “That is something my agent deals with.”
But the new United boss has seen his hopes of a reunion dashed, with the Chelsea No.22 committing himself to the west Londoners.
