Tottenham unveil striker Janssen from AZ Alkmaar in £18.5m deal

Tottenham have completed the £18.5million signing of striker AZ Alkmaar Vincent Janssen.
The 22-year-old passed his medical on Monday night and was confirmed as a Spurs player on Tuesday morning.

The White Hart Lane club have paid an initial £16.8million for the Holland international with Tottenham required to fork out a further £1.7million should Janssen meet certain targets.

Janssen has put pen to paper on a four year deal, with an option for a further 12 months.
The Dutchman, who will compete with Harry Kane for the central striker role, has become Mauricio Pochettino's second summer signing following the arrival of Victor Wanyama.
The deal is the largest-ever fee received for a player by AZ - who have doubled their previous record set when they sold Jozy Altidore to Sunderland in 2013.

Janssen finished the season as the Eredivisie's top goalscorer with 27 goals having moved to Alkmaar for just £340,000 from Almere City in Holland's second division.
The striker's performances saw him earn the 2016 Johan Cruyff Trophy, awarded to the Eredivisie's young player of the year, previously won by former Spurs playmaker Rafael van der Vaart and current star Christian Eriksen.
