And the news will send reverberations around Italy and Serie A.
Because Gonzalo Higuain, the most prolific marksmen in the league, has completed his eye-watering switch from Napoli to Juventus.
For a whopping £75.3m:
Sky Italy: Juventus sign Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli for £75.3m on contract until 2020 #SSNHQ— Sky Sports News HQ (@SkySportsNewsHQ) 26 July 2016
That makes the Argentine striker the third most expensive player of all time after Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo’s respective moves to Real Madrid in recent years.
It surpasses the fee Barcelona paid Liverpool for Luis Suarez in 2014.
Higuain set the Serie A goalscoring record last season after remarkably netting 36 goals.
But he’s swapped Naples for Turin this season after confirming his acrimonious switch to the Italian champions.
Napoli have been Juve’s main title rivals in the last five seasons but this move will surely increase the gap between the two sides at the top.
