Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has reached an agreement to seal a transfer to Real Madrid on a five or six year contract, according to reports in Spain.
The Red Devils are yet to begin negotiations with Real, but it is expected that the ‘keeper’s transfer fee will be around £63million – a world record for his position.
Despite De Gea’s superb form for United down the years, recent reports have claimed Jose Mourinho is willing to let the 26-year-old leave for the right price this summer.
According to Marca, Real have reached a personal agreement with the player and now need to negotiate with United, who could be keen to land Alvaro Morata or James Rodriguez as part of the deal.
This also follows rumours that Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak is a top target for United this summer, with the club sure to swoop for a top class replacement in an important position.
Real remain open to signing Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois and AC Milan wonderkid Gianluigi Donnarumma as backup options, but club president Florentino Perez is understood to have made De Gea his priority target.
The Spain international started his career with Atletico Madrid and has become regarded as one of the best ‘keepers in the world during his six years at Old Trafford.
