Wenger ready to stay at Arsenal, accepts backroom shake-up

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has agreed to extend his stay at the club and will accept a backroom shake-up.
MirrorSport reports extensive talks are underway about the details of the changes, but a huge shake-up is expected in the playing staff.
The news of Wenger staying will not be confirmed, until a board meeting after the FA Cup final against champions Chelsea next Sunday .
The new set-up would see the creation of a role overseeing contracts, logistics and even pooling together medical information to streamline support for Wenger. However, it is highly unlikely to be a high-profile appointment and would not be a director of football.
Wenger, whose current deal expires this summer, said: “I am always open to things that improve the quality and the future of the club.
“Apart from that, after that you have to see if it’s really efficient, because the titles do not always make you better.
“Director of football, when I say that, is a guy who decides the decisions that are normally are down to the manager. That means selection of players, buying and all matters that concern the functioning of the team on a daily basis.
“Of course we can need help to become better. I am always open to open that.”
