Community in Shock as 70-year-old Man is Found Dead Inside His Well in Benue

The many residents of Okokoro Road, Otukpo area of Benue State were during the weekend thrown into confusion after a 70-year-old man identified as Inuwa (surname withheld) was found dead in his well.

According to Daily Post, the reason for his action could not be ascertained as the deceased did not leave any suicide note behind.


A resident revealed that, “we’ve been looking for him since Friday, thinking he might have gone somewhere and maybe lost his way, not knowing that he fell into the well.

“This morning we noticed a very large object in the well, we discovered that it was his lifeless remains”.

Mallam Inuwa, who is survived by 7 children, has been taken to his country home in Odogomu in Ankpa local government area of Kogi State.

The police said they were not aware of the incident at the time of this report.
