Former Super Eagles Striker, Emmanuel Emenike Unveiled By Spanish Club

Emmanuel Emenike signs for Las Palmas club

Former Super Eagles striker and Las Palmas’ latest signing, Emmanuel Emenike was unveiled on Friday alongside Toni Cruz. Emenike who joined the club on loan for rest of the season from Greek side, Olympiacos said:  “I came here because I have heard good things about Las Palmas, and I had seen the team play quite a bit”. Emenike admitted “I have been out for a while through injury, but I feel great now”.



Regarding joining a Spanish league side for the first time, he said: “it is a tough league but I believe in my ability and I want to give my best to Las Palmas”, adding “I came here because I knew about how they played and I had heard lots of good things about the club”.

“I have a lot of experience in football, but I always adapt to what the trainer asks me to”. When asked whether he might be making his debut next Monday against Málaga, he was quite clear, saying “it depends on the trainer, I am in a position to play”.

In terms of his position on the pitch, he said “I am a forward, I feel comfortable up front, but that could always change depending on the needs of the team”.

The former Fenerbahce striker stated “I know goals will come, I can’t commit to an exact number, but I hope I get as many as possible”, concluding his presentation at the press room at the Estadio de Gran Canaria.

Emenike who featured in the 2014 World Cup Brazil with Nigeria, also had a brilliant stint for Russian football. In the Spartak of Moscow recorded 21 goals in 42 games (seasons 2011 to 2014 respectively).
