Teenage Footballer Dies On The Pitch ‘After Suffering Cardiac Arrest’.

A teenage footballer Nacho Barbera tragically died on the pitch after suffering a cardiac arrest, according to reports in Spain. The UD Alzira player – who was starring in the 13-14 age group – was playing against CD Esport Base Ontinyent when the shocking scene occurred.


One report says Barbera, who “suddenly” fell ill, was taken to a hospital but attempts to save his life were unsuccessful.

It is believed the kid had shown no signs of a heart condition prior to his unexpected death.

He had been training earlier in the week.

The club, based in Valencia, said all games scheduled for the rest of the weekend had been cancelled.
