The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Lagos to begin a two-day official visit to the commercial city of Nigeria. His first destination was the Ikeja bus terminal.President Buhari commissions Ikeja bus terminal in Lagos lailasnews 5

President Buhari who was received at the Murtala Mohammed Airport by the Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, has commissioned the world class bus terminal in Lagos



He is on his way to Eko Convention centre, Victoria Island to attend and chair the Colloquium to mark the 66th birthday of APC national leader and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The bus terminal which is located behind the premises of the railway corporation opposite the Murtala Muhammed International Airport will connect 22 routes and over 60, 000 people are expected to transit through the facility on a daily basis.

According to reports, there are 13 similar bus terminals being constructed across the state.

According to reports, the terminal at Alapere, Ketu, and part of the state is scheduled for commissioning today, while the terminal at Tafa Balewa Square has also been completed and ready for commissioning.President Buhari commissions Ikeja bus terminal in Lagos lailasnews 4
The newly acquired buses by the Lagos state government will service the terminals. It was gathered that the state has taken possession of over 5,000 of the new buses. And there are reports that more of the buses will be acquired in the course of the year.
The Ikeja Bus terminal is sitting on 10,000 square metres land space is equipped with Intelligent Transport System (ITS), Fully Air-conditioned Terminal, Food Court, Shops, Toilets, ATM Gallery, Free Wi-Fi, Electronically Controlled shades, among others.
Through the ITS, intending passengers can be informed of the departure time and arrival of the next bus which allows them to plan their movement.
The facility was designed and constructed by Planet Projects, an indigenous construction firm.
