INEC Declares Imo State Governorship Elections Inconclusive

The INEC Returning  Officer for the governorship election in Imo State,  Prof Ibidapo Obe has  declared  the  results of Imo state governorship  election inconclusive following detected electoral mal practices in some local government area.
After counting and collation, summary of  Imo governorship election results is as follows:
APC: 385,671
PDP: 306,142
Margin of win: 79,529
Cancelled Votes: 144,715
Verdict: Election is Inconclusive

Okorocha bans proliferation of political posters in Owerri

Gov. Rochas Okorocha: wants politicians to make use of bill boards
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo has banned the littering of the state capital with posters during political campaigns.
The ban was conveyed in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, in Owerri on Monday.

Lagos based Female Banker & Married Lover die in bed in Imo State

A female banker and her lover died while having sex at Eziudo autonomous community in Ezinihitte, Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State. According to Daily Trust,the two deceased are Mrs. Adejoke Ayeola, 44, from Iperu Remo in Ogun State, and Wilson Ugwunna, 42. Both have two children each with their respective spouses. Mrs. Ayeola was said to have been married to a traditional ruler in Ogun State. It has been gathered that Mr. Ugwunna’s family were alerted when he failed to show up on April 27, 2014. Both lovers were discovered in a bed together.

Lions Escape From Their Cage in Owerri Zoo in Imo State

 
A lion has escaped from the Zoo in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
A statement by the Imo State Police Command said the animal escaped on Monday night.
The statement advised the public to be careful as they move around.
It said the police command and the management of the zoo were doing their best to track the lion.
The zoo is located along Old Nekede Road in Owerri.

18year old Boy Defiles, Kills, then Hangs his Landlord’s 4-year-old Daughter in Imo State

Franklin Njoku, pictured above, a Senior School Certificate Examination candidate who rented a room in a house belonging to one Mr Eze, is currently in police custody after he lured his landlord’s four-year-old daughter into the bush, defiled the little girl, murdered her then hanged her on a dwarf palm tree near their house.

Mob beats up 65-year-old man for impregnating his daughter in Imo

A man in Imo narrowly escaped with his life after residents of his community attempted to lynch him due to allegations that he had impregnated his daughter.
The unnamed 65- year-old, who resides in Kalabari Beach in the Oguta Local Government Area of the state, is said to have gotten his 17-year-old daughter pregnant.
The suspect is said to be an elder in a church and he has 11 children whom his 2 wives bore him and is now expecting one from his 4th child.

Woman Sells her Son's New Born Baby for N350,000 in Imo State

 
A 52-year-old woman in Ezinihitte Mbaise Lo­cal Government Area, Imo State, Mrs. Tina Iwuji, is currently gnashing her teeth in the custody of the Imo State Police Command after she allegedly sold her son's 2 week old baby.
The two-week-old baby girl was sold for the sum of N350,000 to another wom­an, Bernadine Abara, who claimed to be in need of a girl to complement her three sons.
