Arsenal is becoming a graveyard for players and supporters should not be surprised if the club’s top players seek to leave the Emirates this summer.
That is according to respected Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, who has gone on the offensive against the Gunners during his latest column for AS.
Possibly using the club’s 3-1 reverse to Monaco in the Champions League earlier this week as his motivation, Balague suggests Arsenal’s players ‘lack modern guidance both emotionally and tactically’.
Describing the financial situation as a ‘miracle’, the reporter also believes Arsenal ‘have been left on the lawn’ compared to the other top clubs in the Premier League.
And he believes there is one good reason for this – Arsene Wenger.
Although regularly securing a top four finish in the Premier League and having ventured into Europe’s elite competition for the past 17 years, Balague has said the manager does not know when it is the right moment to call time on his reign, and that is why the club is turning stagnant.
‘Certainly the financial situation is a miracle, but they have been left behind on the lawn,’ wrote Balague.
‘What is worse is that it is becoming a graveyard for players and this summer, as usual, their best players will be seeking to leave.
‘They are already 17 years in a row in Europe, and it seems they have not learned anything.’
He added: ‘Wenger will decide when to leave, and that is, above all, the big problem.’
