Nigeria Will Handle Turkish Request With Diplomacy – Minister


The Nigerian government has said that the request by the Turkish government for the closure of 17 schools and hospitals owned by some Turkish businessmen in Nigeria would be handled diplomatically.
It stated that the government would evaluate the request and handle it accordingly.

Restaurant owner is forced to eat cockroach found in customer's food


A customer who ordered fried noodles from a restaurant in Changsha, Hunan province, China on July 25th, forced the restaurant's owner to eat a cockroach he said he found in his food. 

After the customer found the supposed cockroach, he told the restaurant owner to either eat the cockroach or pay him 5,000 yuan (£569).

18 year old Kaleb Amponsah (left), has been found guilty of the stabbing to death, 27 year old Ade Afariogun (right) which took place on January 29th this year. On the day of the incident, Ade was in Plaistow Park with three female friends when they noticed Amponsah ride his bike past them on several occasions and staring aggressively at them.

As Ade was leaving the park, Amponsah confronted and started an argument with him. A scuffle ensued during which the two exchanged punches.

Francis Adekunle Fajuyi gave his life in defence of our country and the then Head of State, General Johnson Thomas Aguiyi-Ironsi. His killers were a group of northern army officers who participated in the so-called northern "revenge coup" of July 29th 1966. No less than 300 Igbo army officers were slaughtered that night together with a handful of yoruba soldiers, including Fajuyi.

Sandeep, was bitten by a snake while collecting wood from the forest far from his village. When he got back to his village in the Raisen district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, he told his family that he had been bitten by a snake.

Okorocha to cut civil servants’ salaries, proposes 3 work days per week

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State says he is considering reducing the number of work days in the state from five to three, to enable the government cut salaries.
Okorocha said this while briefing journalists on the state of affairs in Imo at his residence in Owerri on Friday.
He said the reduction of work days would enable workers to attend to other activities that would generate money to supplement their monthly salaries to take care of their families.

Russian woman, 22, is BEHEADED on first date by a man she met on a dating website

A Russian woman seeking love on the internet was beheaded on her first date with a new man she met online.

Kristina Medvedeva, a shop assistant in the Russian city of Ekaterinburg, described her relationship status as ‘actively searching’ on one social media site.
The 22-year-old was known to be active on at least one dating website, but police have not said if they have been able to track the man she was with from her internet history.

Her badly mutilated body was found on the shore of a lake close to a residential area called Michurinsky on the outskirts of Ekaterinburg, Russia’s fourth city.

A 20-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly dumping her two-hour-old newborn baby inside a plastic bag and running away.  She abandoned her baby in a pink plastic bag that was later spotted by shocked locals in Wangjiaoqiao village, south-west China. The child whose gender was not revealed, was rushed to hospital by police for emergency treatment but did not survive.

Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has denied allegations that he embezzled money meant for the development of Rivers state when he was governor. Amaechi said this while speaking at a stakeholders’ forum on corruption organised by the Federal Ministry of Justice in Abuja today July 28th. 

“If you had followed the Rivers State government when I was governor, we were the first state to introduce the Public Procurement Law in the country. The state cabinet used to call the Director General of Public Procurement in the state as an alternative governor, that they wanted an amendment to that law. The reason they wanted amendment is that he (DG) refused to increase the threshold to one hundred million naira, per ministry, instead he reduced it to 10 million naira.

A 60-year-old man in Ogun State, Mayegun Alani, has been arrested by the State Police Command for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl who is one of his tenant's daughter, the command has said in a statement.

Alani who owns the house where the girl lives with her parents Mayegun Street, Sango, in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state, was said to have repeatedly raped the little girl after luring her into his room with the promises of giving her biscuits.
