Italian journalist Gianluca
Di Marzio has stated that Arsenal have been in contact with
Icardi's wife Wanda Nara.
He
claims that Arsenal have requested to have a meeting in London next week over a
potential transfer for the Inter Milan striker.
Di Marzio continues by saying that Inter are
determined to keep the player at the club and have told him their intentions.
However,
Icardi's representatives will still attend the meeting with Arsenal and
evaluate what Arsenal would offer the player.
Argentinian
Icardi joined Inter in 2013 and has scored 47 goals in 88 Serie A games.
Arsenal have been on the search
for a new striker all summer.
They
missed out on Leicester's Jamie Vardy after he signed a new contract last
month.
They
have also been tracking Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain, but their club
president has today said he isn't for sale.
