Paris Saint-Germain need more than money to keep Verratti – agent

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti’s agent has warned that the club can no longer expect the Italy international to stay at Parc des Princes for money alone.
Verratti, 24, is in demand again this summer but PSG are keen to keep him away from clubs reportedly interested including Juventus.

However, according to Verratti’s agent Donato Di Campli, Serie A champions Juve are now much more attractive to his client than his current employers, who finished second in Ligue 1 last season.
“Juventus will certainly do something special in the next transfer window,” Di Campli told Tuttosport. “Verratti? There is the will of PSG to keep him at all costs.
“Now it is clear — money is not enough. Appeal is also needed and in the last four or five years, the French club have not done enough to improve in that regard.
“Juventus are much more attractive because champions are attracted to winning teams.”
Despite the comments from Di Campli, Maxwell says PSG will do everything they can to keep Verratti.
Former PSG player Maxwell, who could be on the verge of becoming the club’s assistant sporting director after recent talks with new sporting director Antero Henrique, does not think Verratti will force a move away.
When asked about Verratti being linked with Barcelona by Cadena SER Catalunya, Maxwell said: “Marco is a phenomenal player with incredible quality and talent but I see him staying at PSG and not joining another club.
“PSG want to keep him in the squad and in the project. He is fundamental. When you are ambitious, you keep this kind of player. We cannot let him leave.”
Asked if Verratti could force an exit, Maxwell said: “I hope not. I think that after discussions, he will remain at the club for some time to come.”
