Lionel Messi Apologizes To Teammate After Failing To Recognize Him During Meeting

Lionel Messi has issued an apology as he was left embarrassed after ‘failing to recognise’ fellow Argentine striker during a recent meeting. Sebastian Driussi who plays for Russian club Zenit St Petersburg, reportedly bumped into Messi along with the rest of the Argentina team in Russia, and opted to take a picture.


The Barcelona legend was happy to pose with the young striker, assuming he was just another one of his many fans from around the world.

It was gathered that Messi learned of his error when Driussi posted the image to Instagram, tagging the forward in the picture and thanking him for snap.

According to reports, Messi was a little put out by his apparent failure to recognise his fellow professional, and issued an apology.

It isn’t known exactly what the Barcelona forward said, but he is believed to have sent him a private message explaining his mistake.
