Apple admits ‘iPhone 6 Plus’ bends but says it’s extremely rare

Apple has admitted its iPhone 6 Plus does bend, but said if you use it normally then it’s unlikely to.
Several owners of the newly-released smartphone had posted images online showing a bend in the device but the US company has now reassured users it’s a rare occurrence.

‘With normal use, a bend in iPhone is extremely rare and through our first six days of sale, a total of nine customers have contacted Apple with a bent iPhone 6 Plus,’ Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller said in an email.
The tech giant also had to deal with a glitch on its latest operating system, iOS 8.
It withdrew a faulty update (iOS 8.0.1) to the system after some users of its new phones complained of call service disruptions and other problems.
It corrected it with the release of iOS 8.0.2 yesterday.
Despite this the company’s shares closed down nearly four per cent at $97.87 on Thursday, wiping out nearly $23 billion in market value.
Apple said on Monday it had shipped 10 million units of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
