Juventus have made an official bid for Alexis Sanchez in the hope of prising him away from Arsenal this summer, according to reports in Italy.
The Chilean forward has less than 18 months left on his contract and has been stalling on a new deal.
Juve have been heavily linked with the 28-year-old in recent months but have now reportedly made their intentions official.
Sporting directors Giuseppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici have approached the north London club with an offer of €30m (£25m), according to Corriere dello Sport.
While that figure seems small for a player of Sanchez’s calibre, the Italian champions clearly hope to capitalise on Arsenal’s perilous position in the Champions League and the player’s contract situation.
If the forward fails to sign a new deal with Arsenal, he could leave the club in the summer of 2018 for free.
The Italian paper reports that the Bianconeri have been keen on Sanchez since his days at Udinese who he left in 2011 for Barcelona.
They also point out that he would fit perfectly into the attacking system favoured by Massimiliano Allegri – alongside the likes Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Gonzalo Higuain.
Juve aren’t the only club in Italy hoping to tempt Sanchez away.
