BBC Journalist Questions the Rejection of EFCC Boss, Ibrahim Magu

A producer and journalist working with the British Broadcasting Corporation has aired her seeming disaffection with the decision of the Nigerian Senate to reject the confirmation of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu.

After a lengthy period of screening of Mr. Ibrahim Magu by the Red Chamber, a majority of the lawmakers rejected his confirmation for a second time.

This was attributed by a re-submission of an indicting report by the Department of State Security, DSS, which concluded that Magu failed an 'integrity test'.

The rejection of Magu has attracted the comments of a BBC journalist and producer named Stephanie Hegarty who took to her Twitter page to question the capacity of the Senate to disqualify Magu considering the fact that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and 10 others are being investigated by the EFCC for corruption.
