Corpses litter Borno villages

 

The residents of Borno State have raised fears of possible epidemic in parts of the state with the high number of corpses littering some villages, which were attacked last week by the Boko Haram insurgents.

Leaders of the affected communities have already raised the alarm about possible epidemic because the people have not been able to bury the corpses because of the presence of the insurgents in the villages.

Boko Haram kills Emir of Gwoza, no hostage taken

The Borno state government, in Nigeria’s north east, has denied reports that two traditional rulers in the state going to a funeral in nearby Gombe state were kidnapped this morning by Boko Haram gunmen.

Government however confirmed the death of the Emir of Gwoza, Alhaji Idrissa Timta and two policemen.

Local Women Disarm 10 Boko Haram Terrorists

We were stunned beyond words when we heard that some local women in the villages of Attagara and Kawuri in Borno State disarmed 10 Boko Haram terrorists.

These men had come to attack their villages over the weekend but ended up fighting for their lives when these women had used local charms among other things on them.

Boko Haram leader, Shekau, in Military Camp – Zakzaky

 

 A renowned Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky declared on Saturday that the Nigeria military knew the whereabouts of the most wanted leader of violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, Sheikh Abubakar Shekau.

Zakzaky, who is also the leader of the Shittes Muslim group-the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, said the Boko Haram leader is hiding in a military camp in the country, not even outside the shores of Nigeria.

30 people dead as gunmen invade yet another Borno village

At least 30 villagers were killed and several others injured as gunmen attacked Shawa village in Damboa local government area of Borno State, witnesses said.

The attack on the village, which is about 25km away from Damboa town, took place at about 4am when the gunmen crept upon sleeping villagers, shooting and setting houses ablaze with petrol bombs.

Boko Haram Kidnaps Nigeria Police Officers

This madness is sure getting out of control. Boko Haram terrorists, at the weekend, raged in Borno State where 16 persons were feared killed in a fresh attack. In two separate attacks, five policemen were reportedly abducted with their Armoured Personnel Carrier while a Chinese was killed and 10 others kidnapped during an overnight attack in Kuseri Village between Gamboru Ngala council of Borno State and the Cameroun border.

40 Feared Killed As Boko Haram Invades Another Borno Village

At least 40 villagers were killed and several others injured on Saturday as gunmen believed to be Boko Haram members attacked Dalwa-Masuba Village in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, security sources and a witness said.

The gunmen who stormed the village in large numbers also burnt down virtually all buildings in the village as well as three pickup vans carrying woods to Damboa.

The Executive governor of Borno State, Kassim Shettima has said that the Federal Government should not ignore the option of negotiating with Boko Haram if that is the only way to bring back the abducted girls.

Borno govt. to rebuild 400 shops destroyed by insurgents

The Borno Government on Sunday said it planned to rebuild about 400 shops destroyed during last Monday’s attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents at the Ngala Central Market.

Governor Kashim Shettima made the promise when he paid a sympathy visit to the market, which is located at the headquarters of the Gamboru-Ngala Local Government Area of the state.

Boko Haram Bombs Bridge Linking Borno, Adamawa And Sambisa Forest

 

Gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram terror group in the early hours of Saturday blew up a bridge that links Borno and Adamawa states during an attack on Limankara, a village in Borno State, witnesses and security operatives said.

The gunmen also reportedly abducted the family of a police officer, including his wife and two children; before virtually destroying the village.
