Four die celebrating Buhari's victory in Abuja


Four persons were killed on Tuesday night during the celebration of the victory of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, in Lugbe, Abuja.
Soon after the declaration of Buhari as winner of the March 28 Presidential election, Abuja and its suburbs were thrown into wild jubilation with people, mostly the youth, chanting songs of Sai Buhari holding brooms and sticks.

With Buhari’s Victory, I’ll Surely Go On Exile – Bode George


Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Bode George says he may be going on exile following the victory of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Maj-Gen Muhammudu Buhari (retd). 


George had said in an interview that he would proceed on exile if the APC wins at the federal level.

Man beats wife to stupor for over-celebrating election result

The presidential and National Assembly elections held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, turned out to be a disaster for the family of Raphael Abiodun, a commercial motorcyclist, after he  allegedly beat his wife, Bose, to a stupor for over-celebrating the outcome of a result in their local government.

Wife stabs husband to death over APC,PDP presidential candidates in Lagos


A 26 year old pregnant wife simply identified as Onyiyechi has been arrested by the Lagos state police command for stabbing her husband to death following an argument over the presidential candidates inSaturday's general election at their home in Ejigbo on Sunday March 29th.

Elections Must Be Cancelled In Rivers State, Says Amaechi


In an exclusive interview with SaharaTV, Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi says that he believes that today’s presidential elections held in River State were irreparably compromised, and the results must be cancelled.

Amaechi, all All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, alleges that interference on the party of the ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has adversely influenced the result of the contest. Claiming the PDP is working with officials and security agents to rig the contest by withholding result sheets, Amaechi says the results of the election today in Rivers cannot be trusted.

President Jonathan Plans Trouble In Six States, APC Campaign Council Says

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has alerted Nigerians to what it called “a sinister and desperate plan” by the Federal Government to deliberately engineer trouble in six Nigerian states in order to avert imminent defeat in Saturday’s presidential election.
To that end, “100 trained saboteurs” have already been deployed to each of those states, the campaign said in a statement on Wednesday afternoon signed by Garba Shehu of its Directorate of Media and Publicity.

The Peoples Democratic Party presidential campaign office has stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission deliberately awarded contract for the production of the card reader machine to be used for the upcoming national election to a “fanatical” supporter of Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC.
The allegation was made by the spokesperson of the campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode, at a press conference Wednesday in Abuja.

GEJ, Jega, Security Chiefs In Crucial Meeting Ahead Of March 28th Elections

President Goodluck Jonathan; Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, and heads of all security agencies are currently locked in a crucial meeting inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Jega is expected to brief the meeting of the Security Council on the latest in the commission’s preparation for the forthcoming general elections.

Niger state claims 1million names are missing from the Permanent Voters Card list


The APC, in a statement by its spokesman in Niger state, Jonathan Vatsa, said it discovered that the particulars of voters in seven wards of Shiroro, Gbako and other local government areas were missing and that the voters might not get their PVC. He also called for the removal or redeployment of the state's INEC commissioner.

Lagbaja has rejected an offer by the Iyiola Omisore Campaign Organisation to perform at the grand reception of President Goodluck Jonathan’s scheduled visit in Osogbo, Osun State, next week.

According to reports, the masked musician had been approached to thrill supporters of Senator Iyiola Omisore, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the August 9 governorship election in Osun State.

Aftermath Ekiti election: Aregbesola, Oyegun, Tinubu visit Oyinlola

Some national leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Sunday, visited former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, at his Okuku residence, apparently in connection with the August 9 governorship election in the state.

The team was led by the new national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and the national leader of the party and former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu, with Osun State governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, also in the team. The visit is coming a day after the APC candidate in Ekiti governorship election, Dr Kayode Fayemi lost to the PDP candidate, Mr Ayodele Fayose.

 The Returning Officer for the 2014 governorship elections and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti, Professor Isaac Azuzu announced the results of the governorship elections in Ekiti State declaring the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Ayodele Fayose, who was governor of Ekiti State from 29 May 2003 to 16 October 2006, winner of the contest.

Jonathan congratulates Zuma on resounding victory

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday congratulated President Jacob Zuma and his party, the African National Congress (ANC) on their resounding victory in the South African general elections.
A statement by the Presidential Spokesperson, Dr Reuben Abati, stated in Abuja.
It said that Jonathan welcomed the ANC’s victory with over 60 per cent of the votes cast in the election to the South African Parliament and provincial legislatures
