An aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has described his boss as a good man Nigerians should adore. He also said the President has laid a good foundation for change in the country since he assumed office in May 2010 first as an acting President and later an elected President in 2011.
Jonathan was defeated at the presidential election over the weekend by Muhammadu Buhari of the opposition party.

Make Sure You Correct Your Mistakes IF You Win, Okoye Tells GEJ


The former Chaplain of the Presidential Villa during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s regime and the Founding General Overseer of the All Christians Fellowship Mission, Abuja, William Okoye, pointedly told President Goodluck Jonathan that he made mistakes in office and urged him to correct those mistakes if he wins the presidential election.

In a sermon to mark Palm Sunday, Okoye said though Jonathan has achieved so much in office, many Nigerians do not seem to appreciate these achievements stating that the disposition by Jonathan that he was not desperate to remain in office was a welcome relief as he does not see politics as a do or die affair.

GEJ, Jega, Security Chiefs In Crucial Meeting Ahead Of March 28th Elections

President Goodluck Jonathan; Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, and heads of all security agencies are currently locked in a crucial meeting inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Jega is expected to brief the meeting of the Security Council on the latest in the commission’s preparation for the forthcoming general elections.

Atiku Under Pressure To Dump APC As Jonathan Woos Him


Eighteen days to the presidential election some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have put former Vice President Atiku Abubakar under intense pressure to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) and back the re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Also, Atiku’s supporters, who feel shortchanged in APC are urging him to throw his weight behind the President, since he did not realise his ambition of being the standard bearer of the opposition party.

The online portal in an article entitled, ‘Richest African Presidents 2014′, compiled a list of the nine richest presidents and kings in Africa.

PRESIDENT Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, yesterday, at the South-south Unity Party of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), held in Benin-City, vowed that his administration will crush Boko Haram exactly the way it fought Ebola virus disease.

The President also boasted that the PDP will recapture Rivers and Edo states in 2015 and 2016, insisting that the entire South-south must return to the PDP as it were in 1999.

Jonathan begs Nigerian media owners: Support me to “write” new constitution for Nigeria


President Goodluck Jonathan has asked a “special favour” from   Nigeria’s media owners. 9 Army Generals, Others Under Probe for Allegedly Supplying Arms to Boko Haram


Nine serving Generals in the Nigerian Army and other senior military officers are now under investigation for their alleged role in the sale of arms to members of the Boko Haram sect.
They are also fingered in the movement of weapons and Army armouries in some northern states.

Reps Approve Extension Of Emergency Rule In Adamawa, Borno, Yobe


The House of Representatives in Abuja on Thursday approved the request of President Goodluck Jonathan for the extension of state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe for another six months.

Jonathan requested for the extension in a letter to the House on May 13.
