Four die celebrating Buhari's victory in Abuja

Four persons were killed on Tuesday night during the celebration of the victory of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, in Lugbe, Abuja.

Soon after the declaration of Buhari as winner of the March 28 Presidential election, Abuja and its suburbs were thrown into wild jubilation with people, mostly the youth, chanting songs of Sai Buhari holding brooms and sticks.

4 Year Old Accidentally Kills 11 Month-Old Baby In Abuja

The death of an infant in Abuja recently has called for parents and guardians to be on guard when it comes to their responsibilities . It was revealed according to the NPF that a 4yr-old child who was playing with an 11 month-old baby put the toddler in a plastic container and covered the baby with cloths. Police uncover plot to attack Abuja transport network

The police said on Saturday it has uncovered a plot to attack the Abuja transport network.

The force said in a statement that the plot could be carried out by suicide bombers, using devices concealed in luggage at major bus stations.

Abuja has increasingly been targeted by Boko Haram sect, with three deadly bombings since April, including one in a bus park that killed at least 75 people, Reuters says.

“Credible intelligence indicates that terrorists have perfected a plot to carry out attacks on the Abuja transport sector. The move is intended to cause panic amongst Abuja residents and visitors,” police spokesman, Frank Mba, said in a statement.

Mother Narrates how pastor raped her daughter

The mother of one of the girls allegedly raped by Emmanuel Matthew, a pastor, told an FCT High Court on Friday that the accused used a white bedspread and red curtain to rape her daughter.
Mathew, 52, who is the General Overseer of The Choice Bible Church, Mpape, Abuja, and proprietor of the primary school where his alleged victims attended, was arraigned on a six-count charge.

Reps Approve Extension Of Emergency Rule In Adamawa, Borno, Yobe

The House of Representatives in Abuja on Thursday approved the request of President Goodluck Jonathan for the extension of state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe for another six months.
