Boxing legend David Haye has revealed how much he sacrifices when he prepares for a big fight.
The heavy weight champ was asked about his pre-match routine on the Nightly show and decided to share a little too much information.
Haye said: I don’t ejaculate for six weeks before my boxing contest. It is simple, it sounds a bit crazy. The way I see it a lion is most dangerous when it is hungry and when it is hormy. Haye lost a heavy weight grudge match to Tony Bellew at London’s 02 arena last Saturday night.
Haye, who underwent successful surgery on Sunday, remains confident that he will return to action within the next year and he believes he can become world heavyweight champion again.
‘They’ve done similar operation on other athletes in the past – long-jumpers, high-jumpers, basketball players,’ he added.
They’ve come back and had healthy careers in their mid-thirties. David Beckham, Kobe Bryant – big athletes have had the same operation and come back and I can’t see why I’m any different.
Haye, who made his return to the sport by knocking out WBF heavyweight champion Mark de Mori in November, is targeting a super-heavyweight battle with Anthony Joshua.
The 35-year-old has announced his next fight – a bout he is calling Haye Day 2 – will take place in May with an official opponent yet to be revealed.
