Xenophobic attacks: Senate pulls out of South Africa trip


Senator Ike Ekweremadu led Committee on xenophobic attacks, scheduled to travel to South Africa this week, have pulled out.
Deputy Senate President, Ekweremadu stated this at Wednesday’s plenary.

He explained that the decision was to enable House of Representatives members who have left already to conclude their mission.
The 7-man Committee which was set up last week by the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki was charged to engage the South Africa parliament and other stakeholders with a view to ending xenophobic attacks on foreigners in South Africa.
Arrangements had been concluded by the Committee to travel on Thursday.
