Diezani nominated as OPEC secretary-general

Diezani Alison-Madueke, Minister of Petroleum Resources
Iraqi Oil Minister, Abdelkarim al-Luaybi on Tuesday 10 June claimed that Nigeria had nominated Petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, to succeed OPEC’s long-standing secretary-general Abdullah El-Badri.
Luaybi made the revelation in Vienna, home to Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) headquarters.

Oil deals leave northern barons with billion, richer than their states

The murky oil dealings of Nigeria’s military and political elite have led to a handful of oil barons from northern Nigeria controlling billions of naira worth of oil assets, while states in the region battle with revenue shortfalls and a raging insurgency.
Borno State-born Ahmed Mai Deribe’s Cavendish Petroleum is the operator of OML 110 with the capacity to produce about 120,000 barrels of crude oil daily from its OBE 4 and OBE 5 wells.

Five oil marketers bag 3 years imprisonment

imprisonment after they were arrested with two truck load of stolen Petrol from Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipeline, Ibafo area of Ogun state.

CKN Nigeria reporters at the scene saw the workers of the company protesting in front of their office.

Peoples Democratic Party members  in  the House of Representatives and their All Progressives Congress colleagues nearly exchanged blows on Wednesday over the investigation   into the N1.7tn spent  on kerosene subsidy by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
