Robert Gabriel Mugabe, the president of Zimbabwe, said last week that the Whites who had been disowned of farming lands might as well “go back to England” as there was no hope of their ever regaining ownership over their former properties.

Mugabe made the speech during a ceremony held for the installation of a chief in his rural Zvimba area. He also said that the sanctions that have been in place against his country for quite some time now wouldn’t have that much effect on his stand against Whites.

Federal Government may have concluded plans to ban sale and widespread consumption of hides and skins(Ponmo)which is a delicacy to most Nigerians.

This indication emerged Tuesday  when the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina called for competent regulations that would check the consumption and sale of the product.

He said this at the 3rd joint anniversary of Animal Science Association of Nigeria (ASAN) and Nigeria Institute of Animal Science held at the University of Ibadan.

If this is achieved, he noted that livestock farmers would stand good chances of making high dollar return if the hides and skins are tanned into leather.

British Ebola survivor to return to Sierra Leone

The first Briton to be infected with the deadly Ebola virus has revealed he is going back to Sierra Leone to try and help with the struggle to control the disease.

William Pooley, a British nurse, survived Ebola after he was evacuated to Britain from Sierra Leone in an RAF fighter jet and successfully treated with the experimental drug ZMapp.

Despite initially assuring his parents he would not return, the 29-year-old has revealed he plans to go back to Sierra Leone, where hundreds of people have died from Ebola. He has called on David Cameron to do more to ensure an international effort is being made to get the epidemic in Africa under control.

Chris Giwa has been arrested by EFCC

Chris Giwa, who claims to have been elected NFF president, has been quizzed by Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency EFCC.

The associate’s banking transactions between January and June this year were put at 300,000 Naira, but between June and August, the transactions had skyrocketed to 250 million Naira.Giwa was whisked away from his Abuja home Friday by EFCC operatives to answer to the banking transactions of one of his associates.
