A man in China has been sentenced to six years in prison for 'provoking trouble' because he grew a beard.
The 38-year-old from the Uighur minority received several warnings before attending court in Kashgar, local newspapers reported.
His wife was also given a two-year sentence for wearing a veil that hid her face.
In China authorities widely discourage growing a beard because they say it is linked to extremist ideals. The Uighurs vehemently dispute this claim.

Woman sets husband ablaze for refusing to take her out


Echoes of the last Valentine's Day which was celebrated the world over on February, will continue to resonate in the home of the Oluseguns in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, as a woman, Bukola Olusegun, allegedly set her husband on fire because he refused to take her out on the day.
The state Police Command learnt that the couple had had an argument about the outing with the wife maintaining that her husband must take her out that day to celebrate together but the man reportedly refused to take her out as requested without knowing that his wife had intentionally reserved some fuel which she eventually poured on him after the scuffle in the middle of the night.

Teenager Kills Boyfriend For Attempted Rape


The police in Lagos have arrested an 18-year-old lady, Kafayat Olawale, for allegedly stabbing to death her boyfriend, Ojo Ijabike, 32.

The incident happened on Friday on Olutola Adebayo Street, off Idimu Road, in the Alimosho area of Lagos State.

Investigations revealed that Ijabike, an indigene of Owo, Ondo State, had attempted to forcefully have carnal knowledge of the suspect when there was a scuffle between them.

The police in the Philipines are currently on the hunt for 28-year-old Aminodin Macadaag after he burned down his pregnant girlfriend's house because she refused to have sex with him.
The five-months-old pregnant woman, was said to be angry with Macadaag over an earlier argument and refused to have sex with him, prompting him to burn down her home in anger.

14-yr-old boy gives out contract to murder his entire family

A young boy offered a contract for his family to be killed.

In an unprecedented and funny scenario, a 14-year-old boy has been arrested after he hired two of his classmates and gave them a contract to murder his whole family.
The boy who cannot be named as he is a minor, has been arrested by the Florida police and he told them that he had been upset for getting grounded over bad grades.
He said he built up anger towards members of his family, and this led him to hire his classmate to kill them.

A 33-year-old Russian man, Alexander Efimov, has been sentenced to 18-years in prison with hard labour after he was found guilty of murdering his ex-wife by pouring gasoline on her and setting her ablaze because she refused to get back together with him.
CCTV surveillance footage at the grocery store the 25-year-old woman worked caught the incident on camera and it was through the evidence that Efimov was convicted.

The police in Ondo State have recovered N9 million from the six of the fifty armed robbers who raided four banks at Owo last week. 

Two police women and four others, including an ASP and seven civilians were killed by the robbers who stormed the banks at about 4pm last Friday. Also shot dead by the robbers were a bank manager and his deputy who reportedly refused to cooperate with them on arrival at the bank.

Bello, his wife and the director of the Lagos state Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Olakunle Adewalewere in the boat that capsized, leaving Bello, Adewale and others dead.

In a petition addressed to the state Police Commissioner, Mr Samuel Adegbuyi, through his solicitor, Sheriff Okoh Esq., the victim, currently receiving treatment in an hospital, narrated how Obaro allegedly pumped bullets into his body after he handed over N40 to policemen at the check point.

The police in Lagos State have arrested a 27-year-old robbery suspect, Mohammed Nafiu, who specialised in using monkeys and snakes to dispossess people of their money and valuables.
One of the monkeys was also arrested and is presently in police custody.
Nafiu told the police that apart from the conventional tool (gun) used by most robbers, the sight of a snake or monkey unsettles and scares people. He said he was able to dispossess his victims of their valuables when confronted with these animals, especially fully grown ones.

Jasmiyah and Tasimyah Whitehead were 16 when they stabbed their mother, Jarmecca, 34, to death. They stabbed her so violently and repeatedly that they severed her spinal cord.
The twins attacked their mother after getting into an argument on January 13, 2010, at their home in Conyers, Georgia before school. They dragged her injured body to the bathtub and watched her die slowly, before setting out to school.

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun on Wednesday opened up on his inability to pay the salaries of workers in the state for five months, blaming it on “declining federal allocation.”

The governor made the open confession at the 7th Bola Tinubu Colloquium organised to mark Tinubu’s 63rd birthday in Lagos.

He said he was deeply pained and unhappy that he had not been able to pay workers salaries.

A 27 year old man Monday Michael who raped his neighbour at Gwagwa and threatened to kill her has been sentenced by an Abuja Upper Area Court in Jiwa, to four years imprisonment.
The suspect was arraigned by the Gwagwa Police Division on a five count charge of criminal trespass, house breaking, theft, rape and criminal intimidation contrary to Sections 342, 347, 288, 282, and 396 of the Penal Code.

Bloody day as robbers kill bank manager, seven others in Owo

It was a bloody day in ancient town of Owo kingdom, the headquarters of Owo local government area of Ondo State as robbers attacked four banks for hours this evening.
Numbering about seven, it was learnt that the bandits allegedly killed the manager of one of the banks, including seven others, while several were injured.
Sources alleged that when the robbers began their operation in the community, all the police at the various check points in the community disappeared.

Suleiman Muritala, of Pampo village in the Afon area of Kwara State has been killed by a gang of hoodlums, headed by one Muri Ogbena.
Ogbena, a youth group chairman, and 20 other thugs, armed with cutlasses and sticks, reportedly stormed Muritala’s house to ask for a sum of N50 said to be the village due.
A confrontation followed when Muritala failed to pay up which led to the gang to descend on him with weapons.

A 92-year-old woman who was pronounced clinically dead caused an undertaker so much fright when she woke up in the funeral home as she was being prepared for burial and asked the undertaker where she was.
The poor undertaker was so overtaken by fright that he promptly collapsed.

A 35-year-old Detroit mother, has been arrested after the frozen bodies of a boy and girl were found in a deep freezer in the family's home, Daily Mail reports.
The police say that court officers found the children's bodies while carrying out an eviction order at the 3-bedroom home in the apartment complex just east of downtown.

But miraculously, there was no life lost.
