Stéphanie Beaudoin, 21, was part way through a mammoth crime spree that saw her accused of a staggering 114 crimes before she was arrested earlier this year.

Sierra Leone doctor dies of Ebola at Us Hospital


A surgeon from Sierra Leone who was being treated for Ebola in the US died this morning November 17th in a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, aged 44.
Late Dr Martin Salia who had US residency and was married to an American, arrived for treatment in the state on Saturday November 15th in a critical condition after leaving Freetown by air ambulance.
    "We are extremely sorry to announce that the third patient we've cared for with the Ebola virus, Dr Martin Salia, has passed away as a result of the advanced symptoms of the disease." the Nebraska Medical Center said in a statement.

Niger state claims 1million names are missing from the Permanent Voters Card list


The APC, in a statement by its spokesman in Niger state, Jonathan Vatsa, said it discovered that the particulars of voters in seven wards of Shiroro, Gbako and other local government areas were missing and that the voters might not get their PVC. He also called for the removal or redeployment of the state's INEC commissioner.

A teenager told her brother to rape a 15-year-old schoolgirl because she was upset with her for ‘snitching’, a court has heard.

Aliyah Weekes, 19, was jailed today for threatening the unnamed girl with violence, saying: ‘Snitches get snitches’ because the girl had spoken to police about an assault.

Weekes, who was sentenced to four and a half years, then forced the girl to perform a ‘line up’ – a term meaning to perform a sex act on a number of men.

The alleged mastermind of the April 14 bomb blast that killed over 75 persons at a crowded motor park in Nyanya Abuja, Aminu Ogwuche, ‎yesterday, begged a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to order his immediate release from detention.In an ex-parte application he filed through a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Ahmed Raji, Ogwuche, told the court that since July 15, 2014, when he was arrested in Khartoum, Sudan and extradited to Nigeria, he said the Federal government has neither arraigned, tried nor granted him administrative bail despite several demands.

Sam Ogunnoiki, 46, went to Nigeria – 2,000 miles away from the nearest country with the disease – but faces a three-week quarantine.
He was told by bosses at Stout Security Ltd that he needs to get the all-clear from a British doctor before he can go back to work.

A police corporal, Lucky Ikharia, 34, attached to Makinde police station, Lagos, is now on the run after allegedly crushing the legs of his wife, Dupe and killed his own baby over a N2000 argument.

On May 23, 2014, when Mr. Sunday Obi, a retired staff of Chevron Company Ltd, Warri was served breakfast by his wife, Dora, little did he knew that that was going to be his last meal on earth. The late Obi was alleged to have been served acid instead of water to go along with the food. Two of his sons are fingered as among the three suspects. 


Narrating the incident to Sunday Vanguard in the family’s No.2 Okumagba Street residence, Warri, the bereaved wife said, “We woke up that morning; and i made his (husband) breakfast before I left for church. While in church, I received an urgent call from his last son, Ikechukwu, that I should come home, that my husband had been rushed to hospital.

Ebola Scare: Pregnant passenger vomits blood, rejected by 3 hospitals in Lagos

The prompt intervention of Chisco transport officials has saved a pregnant wom­an, who after alighting from one of the company’s buses at its terminal, Jibowu, Lagos, started vomiting blood through her mouth and nose.

The bus, with registration number KJA 950 XR, was said to have arrived from Abuja at about 10am on the fate­ful day when the incident occurred. Scared by the development, other passengers were said to have taken to their heels as one of the passengers screamed that the pregnant woman was displaying Ebola symptoms.
